Cape Haze is located southwest of Port Charlotte, and is completely surrounded by water which means that it has miles of beaches. It also has two State Parks for exploring, fishing along Lemon Bay and the Charlotte Harbor Estuary, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and boating opportunities.
There are many professional golf courses as well as tennis and all the water sports. There are many parks to choose from and excellent bird watching opportunities.
Several professional golf courses and tennis courts are also found in the Cape Haze area. The Cedar Point Environmental Center has 88 acres with marked hiking trails through pine flatwoods, oak scrub, salt flats and the mangroves of Lemon Bay. American Bald Eagles and Gopher Tortoises are found here, and guided tours of the center are available year round. Lemon Bay Park, located north of Dearborn Street in Olde Englewood, has a butterfly garden, nature trails and picnic sites. These are just a few of the exciting and interesting sites to see in the Cape Haze vicinity. In addition, the cities of Sarasota and Tampa are an easy drive to the north, and Fort Myers and Naples are to the south.
